Meet the Members - Edwin Siew

Edwin is Head for Training Development at Outward Bound Singapore and has attained the status of a "Wilderness Leader". Born on 23 August 1969 in Sabah, he became a Singaporean in 1999.

Months before that, in 1998, he summitted Everest, the first from a Singapore team to do so.

In 2002, Edwin and Robert reached Xixabangma's central summit in alpine style, becoming the first two South Eeast Asians to summit an 8000m peak without sherpa support, pre-fixed ropes and without oxygen.

In 2000, Edwin was part of the Antarctica 2000 expedition where he was the co-leader of the Vinson team which summited Vinson Massif. Other climbing experiences include India, Himalayas and New Zealand peaks.

A holder of a Diploma in Building Services Engineering from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Edwin is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Sport and Outdoor Recreation with Monash University. His love for all outdoor sports is reflected in his technical credentials. He has gained top water sport credentials such as proficiency and coaching skills in sea and white water kayak.
